Brace Yourself

Park your car in the wrong place here and they clamp your neck not your wheel. Only kidding of course. In reality they blow you up.
I’m not being throttled but having my life saved. This was part of a first aid course. The  ‘how to remove someone from a car after it’s been attacked without doing more damage to the victim’ module. First, find your car wreck. Then immobilise the neck, wrap a blanket round the neck and shoulders and remove rapidly from  vehicle. Lay flat out on ground. I was very good at the last bit.
The course was run by ex SAS Dave. (PT and NM I have REALLY done an SAS module!)
I also learned how to improvise a chest seal for anyone who has suffered lung trauma, to stand on the pelvic area if a femoral artery is gushing and the life-saving properties of cling film - it’s amazing stuff. I hope I don’t ever have to do it for real. So do my colleagues.
